From small seeds...

My name is Roland Glew and welcome to my new project, Strategic Coffee. I have worked in roasting and sourcing speciality coffee since 2011, first at Hasbean and now at Ozone Coffee Roasters in the UK and NZ.

Strategic Coffee is my project to help small and medium roasters improve their coffee sourcing. The coffee world has changed a huge amount since 2011 and it's now easier than ever to source coffees which perfectly fit your business' needs and deliver the best possible value. However, as education and information on brewing and roasting has become more available, sourcing has lagged behind - I aim to change that.

I love collaborating with businesses and people who want to improve, so I'm available to provide consultancy and do project work - get in touch if you've got something you want to discuss. However, the major theme for me is going to be education and look out for announcements of online classes and content to help everyone learn more about how to get the best value from your coffee sourcing.

My first step in that is going to happen at World of Coffee Brussels, 3pm Saturday 27th June as part of the SCA Lecture series. I'm very excited and honoured to be selected (and sandwiched between the legendary figures of David Flynn and Dr. Fabiana Carvahlo no less!) - I hope you can join me there.
